Donalyn Miller is a new member of The Educator Collaborative network.! Donalyn is an award-winning Texas teacher and author of several books on engaging children with reading including The Book Whisperer (Jossey-Bass, 2009) and Reading in the Wild (Jossey-Bass, 2013).  Donalyn is the co-founder of the community blog Nerdy Book Club and co-hosts the monthly Twitter chat #titletalk. Her articles about teaching and reading have appeared in publications such as Education Week Teacher, The Reading Teacher, Educational Leadership and The Washington Post. Donalyn serves as Scholastic Book Fairs’ Manager of Independent Reading and Outreach.

 

Travis Crowder has taught 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts for nine years.  He obtained a literature and language degree from UNC-Asheville in 2007 and a graduate degree in instructional technology from UNC-Charlotte in 2013.  Currently, he is studying gifted education at Western Carolina University.  In his spare time, he reads voraciously, and enjoys discussing books with friends, colleagues, and students.
