Carolyn Hillarious has been teaching in the United States and Internationally for more than 15 years. Before she began her role as a literacy coach, Carolyn taught children with special needs in both inclusive and special education settings. Carolyn holds a masters degree in Special Needs and Early Childhood Education from The George Washington University. She is a technology advocate and strongly believes that technology helps level the playing field for individuals with diverse needs. Carolyn is a Google Certified Educator and avid supporter of all of The Educator Collaborative initiatives. Follow her on twitter at @chillairous
Jessica Walsh is the K-12 ELA Instructional Specialist for Indian Prairie School District 204,the fourth largest district in Illinois, serving 28,500 students from suburban Chicago. Before starting this role in 2017, she taught 7th grade English Language Arts in District 204 for 11 years. She holds a masters degree in Reading Instruction from Concordia University – Chicago. Jessica is a strong advocate for equity in education and literacy access for all, which is why she proudly supports the work of The Educator Collaborative. Amy Kaiser is the Administrative Assistant for The Educator Collaborative. Since 2013, Amy has worked with schools and organizations to schedule TEC consultants for professional development opportunities and speaking engagements. Amy also assists in programming TEC’s various websites, including #TheEdCollabGathering and Community blog. Amy graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 2007 with a BA in Communications and Advertising. Kristin Patrick is a Technology Integration Coach with Noblesville Schools, a public school district serving 10.5K PreK-12 students in central Indiana, and an Associate Instructor within the Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis Department of Library & Information Science. She is a Past President of the Indiana State Literacy Association, Indiana’s International Literacy Association Affiliate, and serves as a Teacher Consultant with the Hoosier Writing Project. Clare Landrigan is a staff developer who is still a teacher at heart. She began her work as an educator over twenty years ago, teaching in an integrated first- and second-grade classroom at the Eliot Pearson Children’s School in Medford, MA. She now leads a private staff development business and spends her days partnering with school systems to help them implement best practices in the field of literacy. Clare is the coauthor of the book, It’s All About the Books: How to Create Bookrooms and Classroom Libraries That Inspire Readers. She believes that effective professional development includes side-by-side teaching, analysis of student work, mutual trust, respect, and a good dose of laughter.
