Jillian Heise, NBCT, taught 7th & 8th grade ELA in the Milwaukee area for eleven years before leaving the classroom to support teachers’ professional development through BALB Literacy Consulting. Currently she is a graduate student (again!) pursuing her MLIS, and is thrilled to be back in a school with kids as a K-5 library media specialist. Jillian is a passionate advocate for student choice to increase engagement & the power of shared stories through #classroombookaday picture book read alouds. She also brings her literacy expertise and passion for books to her role as Chair of the WSRA Children’s Literature Committee. You can find Jillian talking books and education at Heise Reads & Recommends and @heisereads.
Teresa Bunner is a veteran educator who has served public school students for twenty-seven wonderful years. She has been a classroom teacher and literacy coach at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She served for four years as the Academic Support Specialist for Blue Ribbon Mentor Advocate, an equity and advocacy program. She currently serves as the HS Literacy Coordinating Teacher for Wake County Public Schools in NC. She loves literacy and pursues equity. Often she has more questions than answers but she keeps striving to learn in an effort to insure we provide quality education for each and every student who walks through our doors. The role she is most proud of filling is that of mom to four amazing young men. She blogs less frequently than she should, but you can find her on Twitter often at @rdngteach.
